GTLK and SPUTNIX Group Join Forces to Create Ground Infrastructure for Spacecraft Control
April 9, 2026
Within the framework of Space Week, GTLK (a part of VEB.RF Group) and the SPUTNIX Group (part of AFK Sistema) signed a cooperation agreement on the development of ground‑based control complexes for spacecraft and ground receiving stations for satellite data.
The agreement also provides for the joint development of Russian technologies and services based on low‑earth orbit satellite constellations, as well as their adaptation for use in transport and infrastructure.
“We are not just creating infrastructure — we are shaping the foundation for a new stage of economic development by scaling satellite services in Russia. The task of GTLK as a development institution is to ensure their rapid growth and accessibility for businesses and the state, including through leasing mechanisms.,” commented Mikhail Parnyev, General Director of GTLK.
“Ground infrastructure is a key element of any space system, directly affecting the speed and reliability of data transmission. Cooperation with GTLK on leasing and the rollout of a network of ground stations enables a comprehensive approach to satellite system creation—from design to operation. This is especially important in light of this year’s planned launch of our first ultra‑high‑resolution satellite, Kinosputnik, with a resolution of 0.8 meters,” said Nikolai Pozhidayev, General Director of the SPUTNIX Group.
The deployment of a network of ground receiving stations and spacecraft control complexes will accelerate the creation of an infrastructure for space‑based data services. The implementation of this project will also support the development of affordable Russian digital services from satellite operators, widely in demand across a range of economic sectors.
